ventilated facade

For facade applications, Trespa® Meteon® is used solely as a rainscreen (also known as a ventilated façade), serving as a building solution that boasts both technical and aesthetic benefits. Ventilated facade systems comprise of the fixing of panels on a subframe, which is fixed to the structural facade. However, joints between panels can remain open. With cavities between the rainscreen cladding and the insulation or construction, it allows for good ventilation.

These assemblies provide several advantages. Firstly, there is the chimney effect, where air is drawn in through the cavity, thus aiding in the removal of heat and moisture from rain or condensation. Secondly, the rainscreen blocks solar heat to a certain degree and allows for continuous insulation, thus substantially reducing the need for air-conditioning. Lastly, it allows for higher comfort levels within the interiors of occupied zones.

As ventilated façade systems are quick to assemble and do not require wet trades, they have gained prominence amongst architects, building owners and code officials. An increasing number of projects around the world are using this technique in new constructions, refurbishments, renovations and conservation purposes. The rainscreen offers excellent design flexibility, technical advantages and aesthetic range for new buildings.

Weather Resistance and Colour Stability

Trespa® Meteon® performs exceptionally well outdoors and remains in good physical condition even after years of exposure to the elements. The effects of sun and rain are proven to have a minimal adverse impact on the panel’s surface.

Low Maintenance and Easy to Clean

The sealed surface on Trespa® Meteon® can withstand dirt accumulation, thus maintaining its smoothness and making it relatively easy to clean.

Solid and Sturdy

Trespa® Meteon® is highly resistant to scratches and physical impacts – with high-density panels that are compatible with machinery (like hardwood).
